These websites present medical illustrations related to congenital cardiology. OsloHeart is a non-commercial online resource, built on enthusiasm. Access to the content is free, but registration with an email address is required to download the contents. The website is partly optimized for mobile devices.
Over the years, Michael Bjaanes has created thousands of PowerPoint illustrations and animations in collaboration with various professional environments at Oslo University Hospital. Here, we have collected and structured some of the material relevant to the field of congenital cardiology.
The content is organized by theme. It initially covers anatomy, hemodynamics, and pathophysiology of congenital heart defects. Additionally, some normal physiology is included, as well as varying degrees of clinical aspects and treatment.
This material is continuously being processed, and we have been working on it as a hobby for the past decade. With the support of The Norwegian Medical Association’s (DnLF) Quality Assurance Fund, we were able to review and organize a selection of this material last autumn. More content will be added over time, both in Norwegian and English, and we will also revise what has already been posted. We stand by the material presented, but errors may exist that we have not yet identified.

Who are we?
We are three enthusiasts who, over many years, have developed this material in our spare time. In some series, there are more contributors, and whenever relevant, this is indicated on the last slide of the series.
We believe that many will benefit from the beautiful illustrations and educational series, and therefore, we give you access to use them privately and for non-commercial teaching.

Michael Bjaanes has made all the illustrations and is the initiative behind most of the series.
Michael has a background as a nurse, and for many years he was employed at the Directors staff at Oslo University Hospital. He is now retired, but still active.
